London Born Wine Co.

London Born is run by the Hoare family, originally from London, England, on a 50-acre estate on top of the Beamsville Bench.

They bought the farm in 2007, when its main crop was Concord grapes grown for juice, pulled those vines out and planted vinifera, with first vintages in 2010. Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Riesling are the core, alongside Maréchal Foch vines more than fifty years old.

Every bottle ships straight from the winery.

The story behind London Born

London Born carries the Hoare family's roots in London, England, right there in the name. The winery began as Aure Wines back in 2007, then took on the London Born name as the family grew the brand.

Home is a hillside vineyard on the Vinemount Ridge, above Vineland in the Niagara Escarpment.

Small-batch Niagara wines

The wines are made in small batches from grapes grown entirely in Ontario, with Gamay and Riesling among the mainstays. There are rose and blended wines too, under a London House label.

The newer tasting building leans green, with a living roof, passive solar heating, and rainwater harvesting. A Chardonnay Musque took gold at the 2023 Ontario Wine Awards.
